This paper has studied the structure and property of high tenacity polyamide6upondifferent draw ratios and heat styling temperature process conditions, characterized withwide-angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), sound velocity method, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR)spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, amino-terminated content determination andessential property texts such as the mechanical properties, thermal properties and the absorptionof moisture and dyeing.Through the characterization of structure of high tenacity polyamide6upon different drawratios and heat styling temperatures, it was demonstrated that increasing the draw ratio (DR) andheat styling temperature were conducive to crystal-to-crystal transformation and stabilizing theinternal structure of fibers and the unstable γ crystallinity was changeable during straining andheating. The polyamide6with a higher draw ratio had a relatively higher orientation in itscrystalline region and amorphous matrix, whereas its crystallinity was lower. The temperatureplayed a significant role in orientation of high tenacity polyamide6, particularly subjected to ahigher heat styling temperature, owing to its thermo plasticity.Through the characterization of essential properties of high tenacity polyamide6upondifferent draw ratios and heat styling temperatures, it was demonstrated that the breakingstrength of high tenacity polyamide6was quite higher than usual polyamide6fibers, meanwhilethe breaking elongation decreased with the higher crystallinity and orientation. The moisturesorption rate of high tenacity polyamide6was almost fast and could reach desorptionequilibrium at about5hours, but the moisture regain with increasing draw ratio and heat stylingtemperature was little prominent impact on moisture property at3.1percent around. Thetendency of draw ratios and heat styling temperatures on Melting Enthalpy of polyamide6fiberswas similar to the variation of crystalline and there was little fluctuation on melting temperatureat about220℃. The high tenacity polyamide6exert a good effect on absorption of moisture and acid dye, and for dyeing the effects of hydrogen-bond as well as the van der Waals’ force play asignificant role in dye pickup, especially in the high tenacity polyamide6upon different drawratios.
