The form ation and structure of β-CD andclove essential oil inclusion complex were characterized by InfraredRadiation (IR), Thermogravimetry (TG) and Scanning ElectronMicroscope (SEM). Slow-release antibacterial properties of inclusioncomplex were studied through testing the antibacterial rate of inclusioncomplex placed at different times. The results showed that inclusioncomplex exhibited good antibacterial effect and slow-release antibacterialaction after a long time placement. The antifungal PVA film was fabricated by addition of the cloveessential oil inclusion complex into PVA, which is acted as the basicpackaging material. The mechanical properties, oxygen permeability andthe bacteriostatic action of the film varied with the additional amount ofinclusion complex. The tensile strength of PVA film decreased with theaddition of inclusion complex and no significant action effected on tensilestrength of the film when the amount was less than25%. The elongationof PVA film decreased with the addition of inclusion complex while thereis no obvious effect on elongation when less than20%. The transparencyof the film decreased sharply when the addition amount exceeded15%and the packed fruits in the bag could be seen clearly when the additionamount is more than25%. Adding less than30%had no obviously effecton oxygen permeability of the film. The water vapor permeability of thefilm improved sharply when the addition amount exceeded15%, and noobvious effect was produced when less than25%. It proved that purePVA films have no antibacterial property and the growth of aspergilluswas inhibited in different degrees when the addition amount was different. The growth range of aspergillus is smaller and the bacteriostatic action toaspergillus is increased with the increase of addition amount of agent. The inhibitory zone appeared when the inclusion complex amount wasmore than20%.The migration behaviors were influenced not only by type of foodstimulant, but also affected by the control release mechanism of cyclodextrin. It can be concluded that the antimicrobial films with β-CDcomplexes were not suitable for fatty food system and high-water-activityfood system, but played an important role in longer-lasting effect oflow-water-activity foods. What’s more, the linear regression analysis of migration trendshowed that the change tendency of migration is positively correlatedwith time in four kinds of food simulants and the migration quantityincreased with the larger transfer coefficient. This kind of film is suitable for application of the fresh fruitpackaging and unsuitable for application of the fresh meat packaging, butit can be used as the central layer of multi-layer films in order to play itsexcellent antibacterial properties. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | clove oil, inclusion complex, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), antibacterial, migration, antiseptic | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
