Sheet metal forming is one of the most important metal shaping processes. It is extensively used throughout the major automotive, aeronautical and electrical appliance manufacturing industries and thus forms a vital part of the manufacturing industries of modern industries nations. In sheet metal forming analysis, it is indispensable to study forming limit and forming limit predict. The forming limit diagram(FLD), is a useful diagnostic tool for trouble shooting in sheet metal forming operations and is also an assessment method for determining the formability of different sheet materials. This paper analyzes the reliability of thin-walled parts of the structure basing on this theory.First, the wrinkle caused by sheet metal forming was reviewed in the domestic and foreign research and in the process of the history and also in the structural reliability analysis of the research situation. In the meantime, the background of the subject was explained. Taking the thin-walled parts for the research object, this paper carried on the reliability analysis and structural sensitivity analysis by the existing model, and finally concluded the incidence of the impact factor. This paper was completed in the following areas:(1) Thin-walled parts stamping die machining process has been analyzed, and identified the main factors:the material hardening exponent n, sheet metal thickness t, the forming time T. As the limit state function is unknown, so the response surface method should be chosen to solve it, and the first order second moment is used to obtain the reliabilities.(2) The thin-walled parts stamping mold process are carried out the reliability sensitivity analysis, and the result showed that the hardening index had a greater impact on reliability; while the influence of thickness of sheet metal is also relatively significant; in relative terms, the influence of the forming time on it is a little lower.By pre-setting thin-walled parts stamping die of the factors:the material hardening exponent n, the sheet metal thickness t, the forming time T, this paper can precisely control the reliability of thin-walled parts before the mold being made, and can come to decrease the crease to reduce the failure rate, and moreover improve the economic efficiency.
