With the high-precision, high-efficiency of modern manufacturing, which brings forward higher requirement of spindle component design. Intelligent become a important orientation of CAD of study. Study spindle component intelligent CAD system has a significant meaning to the improvement of the designing efficiency, competitive power and innovation.Study on intelligent CAD system and the spindle component design characteristics. First, the paper constructs the overall structure of intelligent CAD system of spindle component, and divides CBR, knowledge management and three-dimensional parametric modeling of three modules, and analyzes key technology; Then, study and achieve each modul.The inference engine is the core of the system. First, the paper analyzes the parameter which affects structure and performance of the spindle component. The paper ascertains the group of parameters which play a key role in the system and ascertains the weighting coefficients of the parameters by AHP and Delphi. Then, the paper refers to search the similar case by improved formula of the Nearest Neighborhood. The system uses the given weighing coefficients and algorithm to search the case which is similar to the requirements of the designer. The system can achieve a satisfying designing program by the correlation analysis method evaluate to case and modification case.The knowledge database system adopts the object-oriented and producing rule expressing methods and using Visual C++6.0and Access database to create. The database of case is made up of main table and auxiliary table based on the relation of one to multiple. The indexing term of the spindle creates the main table and the parameters and properties of the parts create the auxiliary table. Its management includes the inquiry, add and modification of knowledge and case.Parametric design is the developing tendency of the mechanical products design. System developed the three-dimensional parametric modeling module, and use the programming parametric method to second development which is based on UG, combine case-based reasoning design module and use designing results of dimension driven to achieve the three-dimensional parametric of spindle component.This subject creates the knowledge database using the existing knowledge and the successful case, it carries out inference engine and the second developing modeling, which not only can make practical example reference, simulate the thought of designer and avoid the repeating labour but also can make fast design aiming to improve the intellectualized designing level of the spindle component.
