Steel strip has been widely used in many areas of the nationaleconomy. In recent years, with the development of the automobile industry,appliance industry and railway industry, the standard for strip quality hasbeen upgraded, so that the profile and flatness control gradually becamethe key link in the production of the hot-rolled strip. Profile controltechnology was originally developed by German and Japanese and mostcore technology of PFC system still rested in the hand of foreign supplies,thus the calculation method of the key parameters in the system remainedunknown. Consequently, resolved the control flow and the parameters inthose PPC systems were crucial for the product expansion.The PFC system in this article was from a famous demotic steel plant.The analysis of key parameters and control mode of the PFC system wasrealized. In order to calculate those parameters, a FE method based on asimplified roll system for profile calculation was developed.(1)Through study on the present flatness control theory and the source code of this PFC system, summarized math models and their invokerelationships in this PFC system. And the physical meaning of those modelparameters was explained.(2) Established hot rolling FE models based on simplified roll systemsand elastic flatten calculation model based on analytical algorithm todevelop a new profile calculation method. Through iterative computationsbetween these models, steady plate profile was achieved. This methodcould not only avoid accuracy loss of influence function when applied tohot-rolled strip, but also improved the computational efficiency of FEmodels.(3)Based on the method of iterative convergence and the platform ofVisual Studio2010, developed those models into plate profile calculationsoftware which combined the advantage of the FE simulation and theanalytical algorithm. Consequently, the profile calculation software couldnot only realize the automatic calculation of the plate prolife, but also thequantitative analysis of profile influencing factors.
