At present, the level of coal mine safety production in our country is lowerthan that of many other countries. Especially in small and medium-sized mine, disaster accidents frequently occurred. Therefore, it is necessary for us toresearch and develop a personnel positioning system which suitable for China’ssmall and medium-sized coal mines safety production. The implementation ofpersonnel positioning and information management not only ensure the minewell organized and effectively managed, but also help the rescue team promptlyobtain the trapped miners’ location once the unexpected events occur. Thus, thestudy of this system has an important realistic significance for improving thesafety of miners working. This article conducted a research about the underground mine personnelorientation and management system, mainly discussed the design andimplementation of its PC software system. Through the analysis of thefunctional, performance and interface demand, a general scheme of the systemwas designed. The core technology of PC software system boiled down to threeapplied technology, which was electronic map, network and database technology. The system used the C/S structure, and used the Visual C++forsecondary development of MapX.In the C/S structure, due to the different nature, backend software was dividedthree parts: the data presentation module, business logic module and data servicemodule. The data presentation module mainly included the method of secondarydevelopment of MapX, the design of map layer, and the implementation of mapeditor and so on. In data service module, this paper mainly discussed the TCPserver, the serial communication protocol, and the database design andimplementation. After using IOCP model, the realization of TCP server hadcertain scalability. According to the characteristics of history track data, theauthor also designed a XML data model, which not only conveniently manageda large amount of historical data, but greatly improved the searching speed.Business logic module was the key of this software system, so the paperrespectively discussed the functional module and background data processingmodule, detailed described the design principle and realization method of thisbusiness logic module. Finally, through functional test proved the personnel positioning and management was correct. Through performance test proved the TCP server hadfaster response time and multi-user concurrent processing power. Test resultsshowed that this system development achieved the expected target; meantimethis study had a high application value.
