We have repeated the chemistry vapor deposition method to grow high-qualityarrays of lattice-aligned single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) on stabletemperature (ST)-cut quartz using iron as the catalyst and CH4as the carbon source. The SWCNTs are perfectly linear, the density is about3-4SWCNTs/μm and thediameters of SWCNTs are1.3nm~2.4nm. We studied the transfer methods for therealistic device applications of the SWCNT arrays. And we have observed that metallic and semiconducting SWCNTs on SiO2canhave obviously different contrast in scanning electron microscope, and thus can beeffectively and efficiently identified. This method demonstrates great promise toachieve rapid and large-scale identification of metallic and semiconducting SWCNTs. |
