Currently, China is in the process of industrialization and urbanization, urbanizationis an important trend of economic and social development in China. Thistrend is supported by a large number of resource consumption and waste emissions. Withthe acceleration of urbanization, the environmental burden also accentuate further at thesame time. National statistical offices in2010show that in2008China’s life energyconsumption have become the second largest energy consumption over the transportation.China’s energy consumption is still base on fossil, which will lead to an increase in carbondioxide emissions by energy consumption. Therefore, it has great significance to carry outthe research and application on carbon emissions evaluation in urban communities, whichwill conducive to the sustainable development of urban communities. The paper research on urban residential and residential communities, drawing on theconstruction and development experiences of low-carbon urban communities, ecologicalresidential communities in domestic and abroad. Analysis of the research andpractice about carbon emissions estimation methods and energy saving technology inurban communities at home and abroad; analysis of factors affecting carbon emissions inurban communities, base on which build a comprehensive evaluation index system anda fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model of carbon emissions in urban communities, andusing the analytic hierarchy analysis the various factors.Using the Baibuting in Wuhan as the empirical case to test the comprehensiveevaluation model and methods built in this article. Studies have shown that the result ofthe community’s comprehensive evaluation of carbon emissions is "good", and the averageannual carbon emissions is217,100t. The residential carbon emissions generated by thesystem accounted for63.1%of the total, and the residential area carbonemissions generated by the system accounted for36.9%of total. Base on the comprehensive evaluation and carbon emission calculation, this article give somesuggestions to improve the community carbon emission. The comprehensive evaluationhave been optimized to "excellent" by taking this measures, and the contribution rateof carbon emission reduction is32.5%.The study shows that the urban community as the basic unit of urban systems, construction of low-carbon urban community has great significance for constructionof low-carbon urban and sustainable development. Through rational designand application of advanced technical measures, it will effectively promote the sustainabledevelopment of community and construction of low-carbon city.
