The fineness of wool is one of the most important indexes to determine the woolquality and value,most of the properties of wool are related to fineness ordetermined by the fineness,such as the strength, elongation, elasticity, modulus,bending stiffness, moisture absorption and so on. So fineness test occupies theimportant position in wool performance test, and we focus on the development ofmeasuring instrument.Foreign is in a leading position on the equipment research.The currentrepresentative instrument is the Sirolan Laserscan developed by the AustralianWool Technology Research Institute, it is recognized as a technology advancedinstrument of wool fineness testing,.And in recent years some domestic fiber finenessanalyzer appeared with independent intellectual property rights. The currentrepresentative instrument is the CU-6fiber diameter analyser. Due to high price,market share of the Sirolan Laserscan is relatively low in China.While the CU-6fiberdiameter analyzer using the more advanced computer image technology, the operationis simple and it has cheap price,so the CU-6fiber diameter analyzer has a highermarket share. This paper mainly studies how to replace the test data of SirolanLaserscan by using the test data of CU-6fiber diameter analyzer. Establishpredictive model and applicate in the production and trade, it can save the costs of thepurchase of imported equipment, and has considerable economic benefit.Firstly,we did in-depth comparative analysis of test principle and test methodsbetween the Laserscan and CU-6fiber diameter analyzer, analysised the impact to thetesting results of different test principle and test methods. Collected a total of116groups of different fineness of Australian wool tops. Using Laserscan and CU-6fiberdiameter analyzer to test diameter and discreteness of diameters for each group ofwool top, and then do statistical analysis and correlation analysis using the SPSS16.0software, established linear regression model of diameter and nonlinear regressionmodel of discreteness of diameters between the Laserscan and CU-6fiber diameter analyzer. And then, forecasted based on the model for20groups of random testingdata. The predicted results and the actual results are compared to verify the modelaccuracy.The results show that, after the conversion based on the model for the measureddata of CU-6fiber diameter analyzer, the predictors of outcome and test results ofLaserscan are close, so the model can be applied in practice, which has a certainguiding significance.
