With the continuous development of computer technology, CAD technology hasmade unprecedented achievements. The CAD system developed in foundry, which is alsowidely used in casting process and design process of many factories.As a renewable energy, Wind power is become more and more important. The windpower industry is also booming. Wind turbines, and manufacturing of the hub and blade isthe most complex. The process of wheel design also needs to have a dedicated CADsystem of foundry.Jiang Su Jixin Wind Energy Co., Ltd., products ductile iron wheel for wind power.According to the AutoCAD2010as a CAD system application environment used by Jixin,and using VS2008and ObjectARX as a development tool, on the needs of company’stechnology,after discussing the supply and demand many times, this paper developed aCAD system for ductile iron casting by using the technologies such as dynamic drag,custom entities and OPM.The system features include: the system of initialization and setting up, the system ofdrawing sub-surface and sub-type negative, the system of drawing the amount ofallowance and correction process, the system of drawing riser, system of drawing pouringsystem, the system of cold iron and sand box, the system of drawing sand core, drawingleads to gas, the system of drawing process descriptions, the system of drawing test blockbody. This system almost includes all casting processes of ductile iron.The CAD system has been applied in Jixin company. The CAD system can acceleratethe speed of technology’s design, specify design process and improve productivity.
