In modern manufacturing industry, numerical control system is extremely important, reconfigurable CNC system will be the direction of development of CNC system in thefuture. In this page, embedded technology is used in the CNC system. The structure ofthe motion control core board is designed as ARM+FPGA+DSP. There are plenty of I/Osources in FPGA, it can be used to complete the communication between the ARM andDSP. At the same time, extended Interfaces are left for further development.Firstly, the thesis describes the development trend of the CNC technology, and didrelated research on reconfigurable CNC system.Secondly, in this thesis, detail description of FPGA system was given out. The FPGAsystem is divided in several parts for different function, and clear design goals are set up.There are sufficient resources and specific arithmetic circuit within the FPGA, a singlecontrol core can control multiple objects independently without interference. At the sametime, FPGA has a good adaptability for it is compatible with a variety of communicationprotocols.Thirdly, this thesis carried out a detailed design on the FPGA-based functionalmodules, including: serial D/A control interface, optical encoder feedback based onFPGA, keyboard control module, serial communication based on FPGA. D/A convertermodule is using the chip of DAC7734. According to the control timing of DAC7734,timing control of the DA converter module is written to complete the detection of thecontrolling information of the motor. In the part pf optical encoder feedback, a detaileddesign of the judgment of the direction and the frequency multiplication is given out.Keyboard control module is used the method of the scanning matrix. In the part of serialcommunication module, the thesis gives a detailed description of how to receive, sendand synchronize digital signal. Finally, through simulation and testing, the reliability of the FPGA-based interfacefunctions are verified, to achieve the intended function, design objectives are achieved.
