As increasing developed rate and scale of mineral resources, more and more heavymetal pollutants has permeated environment and caused severely environmental harm.Human based on soil, so paying attention to the pollution of heavy metal in soil, findingout the existential state of heavy metal and carrying on evaluation research of heavymetal in soil have important scientific research value and practical significance. This paper takes mine tailing of Yangla Copper Mine as the research object andadopts the methods of combining field, sampling, laboratory analysis and mathematicalstatistics to study environmental harm and pollution assessment of heavy metal in themine tailing. After a series of experimental study and evaluation analysis, the results areshown as follows:Via XRF analysis, we can know that the key concerning factors in the studiedregion are: copper, zinc, lead, cadmium, chromium and arsenic. We can conclude from the whole quantity analysis results of the heavy metal in themine tailing, the average content of the heavy metal is in this order:copper, arsenic, zinc, chromium, lead, cadmium. The soil in the neighborhood of the mine tailing is slightlypolluted. But heavy metal content in the soil gradually decreases as distance from themine tailing. From the leaching toxic research results, we can conclude that this mine tailing isneither hazardous waste nor corrosive. We only carried on space analysis study of Ordinary Kriging Interpolation Methodin the studied region according to the practical situations, such as experiment conditionand sampling concentration. The research result shows that different altitude andcumulating of mine tailing will affect the heavy metal concentration distribution.Correspondingly, affected by external environment, concentration distributioncharacteristics of heavy metal are relevant to the distribution of sampling sites. Besidesthe above factors, by consulting documents, we also find out that the distribution ofheavy metal in mine tailing is influenced by factors such as the existing forms and minetailing constitution elements. Finally, by evaluating heavy metal pollution in soil through various mathematicalstatistics methods, we can conclude that the general pollution situation of heavy metalin soil transits from no pollution to mild pollution. Considering heavy metal elements situation, the pollution of arsenic is the most serious and zinc has no pollution. Thegeneral pollution degree order is arsenic> copper> lead> cadmium> chromium> zinc.As the sampling sites, pollution degree of S-1is the most serious and S-10almost hasno pollution. The general trend is that heavy metal pollution transits from slight to nonealong the direction of far away from the mine tailing. Therefore, we hope that relevant departments will pay enough attention to avoidingunnecessary environmental harm or decreasing further deterioration of the pollution, and reducing its harm to the human.
