Magnetic targeted drug delivery system (MTDDS) is a new popular targeteddrug delivery system with "directed, quantitative, efficient and safe" characters. Thisnew system is introduced into the development of traditional Chinese medicinepreparation, not only can reduce the deficiency in the traditional preparation, but alsoexpand the range of applications. The matrine class extract with a very wide range ofpharmacological effects, particularly in anti-tumor has been used clinically asanticancer drugs. These magnetic microspheres consist of magnetite particles, whichare responsible for magnetic property, and a therapeutic agent entrapped in thebiodegradable polymer matrix. These magnetic microspheres can improvechemotherapy target tropism of medicine to a certain extent, reduce chemotherapymedicines malicious side effect of medicing by a large margin raise chemotherapytreatment index of medicine from several ways, compared with other form of ananticancer drug at present.In the clinical, matrine preparation has many defects.It could lead to theaccumulation of toxicity ahd treatment of less effective.Based on the above background, the purpose of this paper is to preparation andcharacterization of the new magnetic microspheres-matrine gelatin magneticmicrospheres.The major works described in this thesis include: First, by preparation andcharacterization of the magnetic fluid, we can find the co-precipitation was a veryconvenient method. Secondly, the gelatin microspheres were prepared with twomethods of the single coagulation and emulsification cross-linking, and compared ofmicrosphere size of the finished products. The results was selected the mulsificationcrosslinking for preparation of matrine gelatin magnetic microspheres. Thirdly, thematrine magnetic gelatin microspheres were prepared with emulsification crosslinking,and characterized by IR, particle size analyzer, UV spectrophotometer, and so on.Finally, in a simulated body environment, we can study the degradation of the thematrine gelatin magnetic microspheres. Experimental results show that the matrinegelatin magnetic microspheres posses uniform spherical morphology, well dispersion,high levels of magnetic core and full degree of degradation. With the depth of the modernization of Chinese medicine, Chinese medicineformulations optimized update to face a higher level of demand. Therefore, using thisnew preparation method (MTDDS) of the preparation, we can find a new researchdirection for the development of traditional Chinese medicine.
