Vibrating screen after centuries of development, each technology has beenbecoming more mature, screening efficiency and screen processing capacity is stillvibrating screen sieve effect of the evaluation criteria. The screening process isaccompanied by pore blocking phenomenon is bound to affect the screeningefficiency and screen handling capacity. Fine particles of the pore blocking andscreening inefficient shaker development of technical problems. How to quantify thepore blocking phenomenon and shaker vibration and structural parameters to establishthe appropriate relationship between the difficulty of this research project. This paper combined theoretical analysis and simulation experiments usingdiscrete element method and analyzed the screening process by the numericalsimulation model of the screening process of the vibrating screen created. Singlefactor experiments of every screening parameters has been done to get a large numberof experiment data, and processing of the data been done to identify the mechanismof subparticle blinding during the screening process, and the screening parameters hasbeen optimized. The main research could be summarized as follows:1.This paper has summarized the existing screening theory and classified theseries of factors which influence the screening effect. The spherical particles’ discreteelement screening model has been created based on the Hertz-mindlin collision model.Several comparing experiments have been done by the simulating screening model. The experiments consider the factors of the numbers of the simulating particles, simulating time, number of the screen’s holes and so on to get the best number of thesimulating particles number and the size of the blinding particles.2.The aperture blinding has been quantified and the rate of aperture blindingbeen defined, and the formula of the rate of aperture blinding has been given.3. Through the single factor simulating experiments of every screeningparameters(vibrating frequency, vibrating amplitude, vibrating direction angle, diameter of the screen wire and the inclination angle of the screen’ surface)has been done and the relationship between the aperture blinding and the screening parametershas been studied in detail. Single factor experiments of all screening parameters abouttwo different sizes of particles has been designed to study on the relationship betweenthe size of the particles and the aperture blinding and the comparison of the curve ofthe rate of aperture blinding has been done.4.This paper compared the curve of aperture blinding and the screening effectsof the particles which is of the size0.7mm, and analyzed the screening parameters’influences to provide the basis of improving the screening effects of the vibratingscreen.
