Organometallic chemistry is closely interrelated with materials science, organic synthesis, living science. Etal-complexes occupy an important position incatalytic processes, as the catalysts they have shown high activities in organicreactions and polymerization.Based on full literature research, the latest progress of Ni-N, Mn-N complexesand their catalytic application is reviewed. The typical synthesis, structuralcharacterization methods of Ni-N, Mn-N complexes are listed and studied. Thecatalytic application to Henry reaction is systematically summarized.Using a relatively simple method, we got the complex Ⅰ and Ⅳeach from thereaction of o-phenylendiamine and NiCl2·6H2O, MnCl2·4H2O in tetrahydrofuran; Inthe same solvent, we got the complex Ⅱfrom the reaction of2-Aminobenzylamineand Ni(OAc)2·4H2O,2-Aminobenzylamine reacted with NiCl2·6H2O in methanolresulting in the complex Ⅲ. They are all characterized by IR, Elemental analysis,X-ray diffraction analysis.Organometallic complexes Ⅰ~Ⅳwere then the used catalysts as in the Henryreaction and good catalytic results were achieved (55%-99%). Among them, thecatalytic activity of the complexes Ⅰ~Ⅲperformed better than that of thecomplex Ⅳ, which the conversion efficiency were all up to99%.Three ammonium salts were synthesized by the novel methods. The structureof each compound was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis, Elementalanalysis, and IR.
