In recent years, conjugated polymers have generated great interesting bysupramolecular chemist for the reason of their potential applications in organic solarcells, organic field-effect transistors, organic memories, organic flat panel display,biosensors and so on. The performance of photoelectricity of conjugated polymers isnot only by the inherent electronic structures, but also by the morphologies that wereconstructed by the intermolecular interaction, such as van der Waals’forces, hydrogenbond, π-π stacking interaction and so forth. Great efforts have been made to controlthe hierarchically ordered assmblies. This paper designs and synthesises a newconjugated polymers gelator PPE via sonogashira reaction, and we prepared it into geland characterization it. we also designs and synthesises a series of rod-coilcopolymers comprising oligo(p-phenyleneethynylene) and oligo(ethylene oxide), andresearch their self-assembly and energy transfer. The results of each part are listed asfollows:(1)A new conjugated polymer gelator PPE was designed and synthesised, andprepared into gel. Experiment ensure that gel-froming directed by the cooperation ofhydrogen bonding, π-π interactions and van der Waals’forces. Before this paper, as faras I know, few report introduce the tertiary amine to the gelators in order to generatehydrogen bonding which can play an important role in the gel formation. TEM imagesof the xorogel reveal entangled fibers about a few nanometer diameter in lowconcentration. Meanwhile, in the SEM images30-50micrometer wide ribbon-likefibres are also entangled with each others and form the gel in finally.(2)A series of rod-coil copolymers comprising oligo(p-phenyleneethynylene)and oligo(ethylene oxide) are designed and synthesised. We research the excitationspectrum and emission spectrum which changes with the concentration changing. Wealso research and observe the morphology and size of the polymer self-assembly byTEM and DLS. A new polymer is reactioned by adding a few benzothiadiazole on thebasis of former, and found its spectrum doesn’t change. In the mixed solvent ofwater and tetrahydrofuran, energy transfer to benzothiadiazole are found.
