In this thesis, rare earth doped probe molecule were prepared using bipyridyl, ruthenium trichloride (RuCl3), rare earth chloride as raw material. The rare earth doped temperature sensitive paint (TSP) samples were obtained that the rare earth doped probe molecule was added into the different matrices(MMA and shellac). The structure and properties of the probe molecule and temperature sensitive paint were characterized by infrared spectrum、scanning electron microscopy、energy spectrum、ultraviolet absorption spectra、fluorescence spectrum. The infrared spectrum testing results were showed that the structure of bipyridyl was not destroyed. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the probe molecules were flaky crystals and hexagonal structure. Energy spectrum showed that the rare earth elements were doped in the probe molecule. The ultraviolet absorption spectra showed that the absorption band of temperature sensitive paint was200-600nm.The strongest fluorescence emission peak of temperature sensitive paint was600nm when it was excited by410nm, and fluorescence intensity of temperature sensitive paint was decreased with the temperature increasing. It indicated that there was good temperature quenching characteristic.
