Ships and offshore platforms have been widely used in the marine transportationand exploitation of ocean resources. Due to the load of wind, wave, current of seaenvironment, motions of the floating platforms have great effects on the health andsafety of crew aboard. In this thesis, crew performance influenced by the motions ofoffshore platforms is studied.Based on the related standard of Chinese adult anthropometric parameters, centerof mass (COM), inertia and tipping coefficient of human body are calculated. Therelationship between COM, inertia and height, weight is given. By applying theequation of postural stability region of motion induced interruption (MII) is shown.Dynamic responses are obtained from calculating motion equation of analyticaldynamic model of human body by Runge-Kutta method. At the same time, humanbody is also modeled in ADAMS by using IMPACT method to simulate the motion. The results from two methods agree well.By carrying out related experiment, the acceleration of human and ship’s motionsin different directions are measured with the use of wireless acceleration sensors.Effects on human body response of ship’s motion are given.A program package is developed of reaction time measuring to study effects ofrelative motion on visual perception.
