| This paper investigates a new type of materials, which use boride to replace the carbide as the alloy wear-resistant phases, named high boron iron-base alloys. The alloys because of the reduction of carbon content in matrix, it has strong toughness and good abrasion resistance at the same time.Studies used orthogonal test method for alloy composition optimization, when the mechanical properties of the samples were detected and considered the results of orthogonal test on the base of analyzing and comparing, identified the high boron iron-base wear-resistant alloy composition and prepared the optimization of compositions of high boron iron-base wear-resistant alloy materials, then tested the corrosion resistance and abrasive wear properties.Orthogonal experimental results show that:high boron iron-base alloy the optimal composition is:C0.43wt%, B-2.50.35wt%, Cr-1.0wt%, Mn1.0wt%, V-0.5wt%, Si-1.0wt%, Cu-1.0wt%, RE-1.0wt%, Fe others. By using optical microscope, spectrometer, scanning electron microscope and X ray diffraction analysis method, studied the optimum compositions of high boron iron-base alloy as-cast microstructure of the alloy, as-cast microstructure were pearlite matrix, eutectic borides, peritectic boron carbon compound, two boron compounds. Boride mainly were Fe3(C, B) Fe2B.Abrasive wear test results show that:high boron iron-base wear-resistant alloy wear weight loss, relative wear rates are less than high chromium cast iron and high manganese steel, and the wear groove, pit on the wear surface morphology are less and small too, high boron iron-base wear-resistant alloy has better abrasive wear resistance than high chromium cast iron and high manganese steel.Immersion corrosion results show that, in the acidic corrosive medium, high chromium cast iron, high boron iron-base alloy and high manganese steel corrosion rate increases, in neutral and alkaline corrosion medium, high boron iron-base alloy’s corrosion rate of three kinds of alloy is minimal, so alloy’s corrosion resistant of alkaline and corrosion resistant of neutral is better than the high manganese steel and high chromium cast iron. |
