Chemicals with a great variety of properties closely related to industrialand people’s daily life. Because of its characteristics, hazardous chemicals likely tocause accidents such as combustion, explosion, poisoning, etc., and cause casualties,environmental pollution, property loss and other serious consequences. In order toprevent or reduce possible accidents in the chemical product life cycle, first of allmust correctly classify the hazardous chemicals. Improve and implement the systemof classification and identification of chemicals, promoting the development ofChina’s export and import trade and foreign exchange needs, are challenges that mustbe faced by the Government. Developing test equipment compliance with thestandards will contribute to the flammable liquids production, transportation, storageprocess, and have great society effects.Microprocessor as the core function, the sustained combustibility for liquidstester development in the study realize the automation of the testing process, includetemperature acquisition and control unit, test flame unit, action control unit, flamesignal acquisition unit. Realize the standard required fast heating and temperaturecontrolling, test flame moving, high precision of sampling and results assessing.The content of the study are summarized as follows:Studied the hazardous gas diffusion model, discussed the mechanism andmathematical model of sustained combustibility characteristics of flammable liquid,and analyzed the concentration of gas and influence, thus laid a solid theoreticalfoundation for the subsequent studies.Completed the main mechanical design of the tester, which mainly content ofassemble of the heated metal block and auto sample, improving automation level.By using modular design method, accomplished system hardware design, keycomponents selection, and basic functional modules software design.Through experiments and error analysis, verify the apparatus’ accuracy andreliability, the instrument parameters meet the requirements of determining,increased test efficiency and safety.
