Nowadays the emphasis on environmental impact of municipal solid waste (MSW) is increasing while there is no integrated tool to analyze environmental impact of the whole waste treatment processes. So this research is to be able to establish the framework of Chinese municipal solid waste disposal system, collect a list of waste disposal data and build and develop the assessment software that can weigh the environmental impact of waste disposal technologies, which provides theoretical support for the MSW management and disposal technologies.Life cycle assessment (LCA) used in MSW is studied systematically as well as three foreign evaluation software:EASEWASTE, MSW-DST and GaBi4. According to the life cycle process of waste, firstly the frame of waste treatment technologies (WTT) is built. Combined with lots of literature records and experimental data, data lists about WTT are developed. According to the basic principles such as material conservation, energy conservation and elements conservation, using visual programming, the modeling software has been developed to quantify municipal solid waste material flow and energy flow. Through studying generation principle and disposal technologies of secondary pollutants, LCA evaluation methods are used to analyze the influence of pollutants on environment. This software can provide the analysis and evaluation reports about one or multiple WTT.Using the existing data about the fluidized bed operation and emissions of pollutants, this software is tested and verified, finding that it runs well and the calculated results match the measured values well. The calculation results are analyzed using life cycle environment impact assessment. It is found that the fluidized bed incineration technology can lower the contribution rates of pollutants in various types of impact on the environment, showing that fluidized bed incineration of waste disposal is feasible. The calculation of the evaluation software is based on empirical data and pollutant formation mechanism of the semi-quantitative calculation. It is theoretically able to reflect the situation in the waste incineration processes, giving users a certain amount of advice and guidance.
