Tin oxide has stable chemical and mechanical properties, and the characteristics of transparent conductive can be used to air sensitive detectors, electrode materials and solar battery, etc. Especially as air sensitive materials, tin dioxide can detected a variety of harmful, toxic and flammable and explosive gas. Because tin dioxide gas sensor is effect on its size and surface area, sensor sensitivity was discretion the size of the selectivity, important factors. The particle size and morphology of tin dioxide with its preparation methods and conditions closely related. Among them, the hydrothermal synthetic powders have many characteristics, such as the high crystallinity, crystal complete, narrow powder size distribution and morphology to control etc.At present, organic templates and surface active agent used to add to hydrothermal synthesis reaction as morphology guidance controller of product, but most of the template is not only increased the complexity of the reaction procedure, but also not easy to remove. In recent years, ionic liquid was used to hydrothermal synthesis inorganic nanometer material as template and auxiliary cause for more and more attention. Ionic liquid with small surface tension, low melting and boiling point, thermal stability, easy to remove and reusable and other characteristics, is expected to be the best material that replaced the template that hard to remove. This paper first synthesized ionic liquid1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, and synthesis tin oxide powder with auxiliary of ionic liquid via hydrothermal. Structure and morphology was characterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and discusses gas sensitive of the oxide tin to ethanol and acetone.Selected the best hydrothermal synthesis conditions such as precursor body concentration, reaction time, temperature. The results showed that:1) In ionic liquid, SnCl4:NaOH as1:6,160℃heating24hours conditions, get morphology of approximate cube rutile type tin oxide, poduct have a good and higher response sensitivity to ethanol and acetone gases, the recovery time is short;2) without ionic liquid, SnCl4:NaOH for1:7,160℃heating24hours condition, we get for approximately spherical shape structure of the mixed crystal tin dioxide, product have response to ethanol and acetone gases, but is very unstable.Copper was prepared by hydrothermal process using cupric suifate pentanhydrate as raw materials and glucose as reducing agent. It’s structure and morphology was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). When the precursor molar ratio of OH":Cu2+:glucose was4:3:1in the reaction, temperature was160℃and the reaction time was24h, copper of irregular morphology was obtained. Futhermore when used ionic liquid, the product became spherical, it’s average particle size was5.1um.
