Due to the particularity of the gold jewelry industry, for a long time the gold jewelry has been processed by the hands of the workshop, and the technology is seriously lagged behind. As one of the best-selling gold jewelry, gold beads are linked from the spherical shell to connected series and made by the hands of the workshop, and its processing needs a large amount of the production process and the quality is difficult to be guaranteed. In order to achieve the automated production of gold beads as the goal, the difficulty of beads spherical shell forming has been studied for the gold beads spherical shell multiple necking shape, and the gold beads automated forming equipment is discussed. Major studies are as follows:Taking the basic theory of the rigid-plastic finite element method as the theoretical basis of the numerical simulation analysis for the gold beads spherical shell stamping necking forming, and establishing the finite element simulation model of the beads spherical shell forming process;Establishing the mathematical model of the gold tube punching into beads spherical shell, using the axisymmetric shell thickness deformation theory of the metal rigid plastic deformation theory to get the Mechanical analysis of the gold beads spherical shell multiple necking shape, and gaining the relationship between spherical shell stamping forming pressure and the gold tube’diameter, thickness, and the necking factor;Through the study of the results of the simulation of the spherical shell in the mold of the beads necking forming process, there discovers that the spherical shell is not normally shaped and the burr occurs. Then the fillet is adjusted on the contact area between the mold and gold tube. As a result of simulation, the relationship between the best fillet the mold and the fillet of the gold tube first contacting edge surface and inner diameter of necking gold tube port is obtained;Gold beads automated molding process is developed; through the decomposition of the total functionality of the device, the device design and kinematic performance of the drive system of the device are simulated;Taking1#A copper instead of gold beads to test prototype of the gold beads automation equipment and the forming spherical shells and beads, the experiment shows that beads is formed automatically, the beads link is reliable, and the appearance quality of spherical shell is uniform with no burrs. The reliability of the theoretical calculations of the mold design and numerical simulation results was verified, and the feasibility of the beads automatic forming processes and equipment was proved.
