In the chemical industry, the technology of high temperature and high pressure has a story of several decades. The hydrogenation process and related devices are frequently used in oil processing process in order to improve the quality of the oil. The promotion and application of the hydrogenation on process is very rapid. The hydrogenation process can be achieved in the high temperature and pressure conditions. Hydrogen induced cracking can occur in hydrogen reactor and a large number of hydrogen atoms would enter this steel by diffusion during a long period of operation in high pressure, high temperature under hydrogen environment. Co-operation of temper embrittlement and hydrogen will do harm to hydrogenation reactors. How to eliminate hydrogen and repair caused by hydrogen is an attentive problem for petrochemical industry. The repair of took over cracking and the problem of hydrogen-induced cracking are the main study in my work. Through the detection and analysis on the took over cracking, we have identified that stress corrosion is the main cause on took over cracking, and the presence of hydrogen exacerbated the generation and expansion of crack. A technique of electrochemical hydrogen charging is adopted to study the behavior of hydrogen-induced cracking. The average hydrogen concentration diffused in stainless steel and hardfacing layer is measured when hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC) occurred. This research is significant for repairing and defending HIC is also an important theoretical evidence. Developed on this basic, the elimination of hydrogen technology and crack repair program were formulated.
