With the rapid development of computer technology, numerical simulation analysis has been widely used in the research and design of Mining Engineering. It costs less than physical model and also can calculate and analyze parameters quantitatively during recovery, which include stress in the surrounding rock, law of displacement changes as well as variations of plastic zone. Then it is able to determine their dynamic changes in each step of recovery and judge the stability of the surrounding rock.Datuanshan mineral deposit is the mineral main deposit of Dongguashan copper mine, most ore in the old part of Dongguashan copper mine is produced in here, the deposit above-580m uses the paneling method and has achieved good effect of mining, this method has some advantages like the high production efficiency, the simple production technology and the low mining cost. At the same time it has some disadvantages like stoped out area is large exposure, stope space span is too large and so on. With mining deepen, pressure increase gradually, the weighing down of stoped out area and other safety problems influence the normal production of mine seriously, serious earth pressure activities become the primary issue influence mine safety and efficiency of mining. Based on the specific research projects, used the research results of the deposit above-580m mining method, and continued the study of the Dadongshan deposit below-580m’s mining method and the study of the stability about ore and rock. This research collected related engineering geological data, did engineering geology survey and indoor test, referenced the Dadongshan deposit above-580m’s mining method and the successful experience of similar mine in domestic or overseas, according to the mining technical requirements and characteristics of the deposit below-580m, doing theory analysis and then choosing a variety of suitable for the mining methods. Using the computer numerical simulation technology, the popurlar numerical simulation software FLAC3D was used to build mechanics model for each mining scheme. And then used numerical simulation calculation to do the analysis of the stability about ore and rock, did in-depth research on the stress distribution and the plastic zone of stoped out area in different conditions and all the stability of stoped out area in the ore body. Finally, according to the result of comprehensive analysis of the stability of stoped out area, determine the safety and feasible mining method.
