Phthalocyanine compounds have played an important role in the area of functional material science, such as photoelectric conductor material, organic conductor and nonlinear opticical field. It is well known that phthalocyanine have high thermal and chemical stability. Especially for rare earth phthalocyanine compound, they can be widely used in air sensitive semiconductor materials, catalyst materials, electrochromic materials and photoelectric conducter materials etc. They exhibit their good air sensitive semiconductor performance, catalytic performance, electrochromic performance and the structure similar with natural porphyrin. Generally, there are two kinds of method for phthalocyanine compound synthesis, the materials of two method are cheap. Liquid synthesis use liquid substances as solvent and the materials prepared in liquid phase. The reaction process need to use a large number of organic solvent, preparation process is complicated, need to control the pH of reaction equipment, strict requirements. At present, most synthesis of rare earth phthalocyanine compound reaction mainly concentrated in liquid phase reaction, So, researchers are looking for a new way which can avoid above disadvantage:using solid phase synthesis method to prepared required complexes. There are lots of advantages, such as not use prominent advantages of organic solvent, less pollution, simple synthesis process, less energy consumption. People take more interesting in this method. At present, solid phase synthesis metal phthalocyanine compound most concentrated in Fe, Co, Ni, Cu etc region element. It is not seen rare earth phthalocyanine compound reaction for solid phase. So, researchers now take more interest in solid method for phthalocyanine synthesis.In this paper, phthalocyanine yttrium was synthesized using the materials of urea, phthalic anhydride, nitric acid yttrium, by solid method for synthesis, then the compound was separated. Finding the optimum preparing condition was that the mole ratio of raw materials for urea and phthalic anhydride is5:1, for phthalic anhydride and nitric acid yttrium is1:0.25. The reaction was lasting for4h in the temperature of220℃, using molybdic ammonium and carbonate sodium as catalyzer to improve the yield.The compound was charactered by TGA, XRD, IR, UV-Vis and Fluorescence. In this paper, we synthesized the structure and property characterization thermal for phthalocyanine yttrium. The whole exothermic chemical process was analyzed by TGA. Through the IR and UV-Vis, we confirmed the structure. Though the XRD we can determine the compound has a certain crystal. Make sure the key step of solid reaction is chemical reaction by the X-ray diffraction at different reaction time, get the diffusion, nucleation and growth are quick steps.
