This paper focuses on the low removal capacity of total nitrogen of sewagetreatment plants to carry out the denitrification biofilter technology for depthprocessing. Through the establishment of the small scale test device in laboratory,the researchers analyzed the impact of different operating conditions of denitrificationfilter on the effect of denitrification, and applied the microelectrode, which is a kindof advanced monitoring method, in monitoring the dissolvedmonitoring of oxygenand nitrate of the attached biofilm under the relevant operating conditions. Theresearchers evaluated the operating results of the denitrification filter from themicroscopic distribution of characteristic parameters and macro out of the waterindicators. And the optimized process operating conditions were concluded andsupported technical for solving the existing sewage treatment process TN complianceissues.Firstly, a small pilot-scale denitrification filter reactor was established, the systemexamined the impact of the ratio of carbon and nitrogen (C/N), hydraulic retentiontime (HRT), influentconcentration of dissolved oxygen, backwash conditions andother factors on the result of nitrogen removal. The results show that the bestoperating conditions of the denitrification filter are that the C/N is4and HRT is100min. Water dissolved oxygen had effect on the dosage of carbon source. Filterbackwash can guarantee the stable operation of the reactor.Secondly, denitrification tests showed that, in low-carbon source load conditions,the denitrification activity is mainly concentrated on the sufficient area of the carbonsource and denitrification activity is more evenly distributed when the influent C/Nis4:1. When the water DO reduces, the denitrification activity will be enhanced.Finally, based on the preparation of good performance, cutting edge diameter of5~30μm electrode of dissolved oxygen, nitrate liquid membrane ion selectivemicroelectrode, a denitrification filter the internal characteristics of the testmicro-electrode system is built. The distribution of dissolved oxygen and nitrateroot concentration were investigated when the ratio of carbon and nitrogen is4.5:1.By fitting the model of concentration profile, the filter at different depths ofthebiofilm denitrification rate constant fitting results was obtained. The fitting result isconsistent with the rate testing results of denitrification.
