Ferrocene organometallic compounds attract much attention.because of their unique performance in nonlinear optical materials, magnetic materials, liquid crystal materials, and burning rate catalyst etc. In recent years, synthesis of heterocyclic liquid crystal has played an important role in the design of new functional materials and becomes one of the research hotspots. Especially1,2,3-triazole ring has a certain chemical stability, and can be modified by functional substituting group on the triazole ring. The nitrogen atoms in ring, having lone pair electrons, easily coordinate with transition metals to form complexes. This kind of compounds has wide application prospect in the field of organic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and material chemistry because of their unique structure and chemical properties. In view of the excellent properties, herein, ferrocene derivatives containing triazole were prepared from ferrocenylethynyl ketones by means of click reaction, then coordinated with transition metals Cu(II), Zn(II) to form complexes. The new compounds was fully characterized by a combination of analytical techniques such as IR,1H NMR,13C NMR, MS, X-ray, and elemental analysis. The electrochemical properties were studied through the cyclic voltammetry (CV) method. The catalytic effect of these ferrocene derivatives containing triazole on thermal decomposition reaction of ammonium perchlorate (AP) had been investigated by TG-DSC method, and found that both ligands and complexes can advance the decomposition temperature of ammonium perchlorate and make the exothermic more concentration. In addition, the ligands containing long alkoxyl chains have liquid crystal properties and belong to nematic thermotropic liquid crystal analysesed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarizing microscope.
