Ecological footprint, as a research method of evaluating the state of sustainable development, has been widely used in various aspects. Based on this, ecological footprint model was used to calculate the ecological footprint of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from1991to2010. The time period was divided into1991to2000and2001to2010, respectively, to calculate the ecological footprint, ecological carrying capacity, ecological footprint of ten thousands yuan GDP. This research compared the related evaluation and dynamic characteristics of the two periods. This study could be concluded as followed:from1991to2000, the ecological footprint of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region had a growing trend, with a lower growth rate and a moderate growth trend; Generally, ecological carrying capacity had growth trends despite the ups and downs; In all, ecological footprint of ten thousands yuan GDP had a downward trend. From2001to2010, the ecological footprint showed a growth trend, with a high growth rate and a significant growth trend; ecological carrying capacity showed a growth trend for the same period; ecological footprint of ten thousands yuan GDP continued to show a downward trend. Between the two stages, the overall growth of the ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity from1991to2000is lower than that from2001to2010.Overall, the ecological footprint had a gradual upward trend in1991-2010, rising from2.1945hm2per person in1991to17.8948hm2per person in2010, with an increase of15.7003hm2per person and an average annual growth rate of35.77%. the demand for various types of ecological and productive land area showed an upward trend, especially the fossil energy land which further exceeded the annual growth rate of other types of ecological and productive land. The ecological carrying capacity per person showed an upward trend over the same period, rising from2.0228hm2per person in1991to3.0642hm" per person in2010, with an increase of1.0414hm2per person and an average annual growth rate of2.57%. various types of ecological and productive land area showed showed rising trends except that land area for waters had a fluctuant downward trend. Between1991and2010ecological footprint of ten thousands yuan GDP of the region showed an overall downward trend, reduced by3.52times. Analysis results revealed that from1991to2010Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has been in a state of ecological deficit, and the state is even more serious since2000.For the environmental impacts and ecological effects caused by rapid development of economy and society of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, this paper put forward specific policy recommendations to better guide the planning of economic and social development and make the economic, society and resources of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region be in harmony with environment to realize harmony with nature and sustainable development in region. |
