Safety instrumented system Is a dedieated system, is in the domain which use the keycontrol and safety, to prevent an accident or decrease damage to devices, environment andpersons. But so far,Chinese security instrument system is independently researched anddeveloped. In comparion to the traditional systerns traditional, how to achieve safetyinstrument system with high security has always been the major issues. Focused on thisquestions, this author makes safety instrument system design, SIL classification andimplementation, Farther, examplified the proceeding of Petroleum&Chemica finished thecomplete procedures of IPF design.First of all, basic concepts and features of safety instrumented system had been presented,and introduces in detail the safety instrumented system related terms, the developing processand practical application;Then, targeted at IEC61508, summarize the performance assessment technology that indevelopment process of product on safety instrumented system, This includes safetyinstrument system composition, structure, configuration, security and usability of the wholelife cycle, safety, risk analysis and safety integrity level and so on.Lastly, according to IEC61508requirements, the design principle about safetyinstrumented system, the procedure and methodology of SIL classification andimplementation, method of improving the SIL level and common issues of SILimplementation are presented, and examples are provided.
