Polypropylene/wood flour foam composite is a type of material that taking woodflour into the polypropylene matrix resin,and join foaming agent for foaming. It bothhave some of the advantages of the wood-plastics composites and PP foam material, notonly with the woodiness feeling,secondary processing property,Environmental friendlyand can be recycled similar to the wood;but also have good heat resistance, good heatinsulation and high energy absorption performance, corrosion resistance and excellentresistance to stress cracking performances like the PP foam material. So it get theextensive concern from the people, and many human and material resources was used tostudy it.For solve the problems in the process of prepare the polypropylene woodcomposite foam material, many analysis and study has been done. The results showedthat: adding0.3phr ZnO in to the AC (1phr),9phr DCP and and7phr TAIT (relative to100phr PP) were used to crosslink PP,2phr Aluminum acid ester coupling agent and10phr POE-g-MAH coupling agent(relative to100phr wood flour) were used totreatment the surface of wood flour can effectively solve the three key problem, and canprepare a Polypropylene/wood flour foam with high-expanded and superior cellmorphology.In addition, A study of the density, cell morphology, hardness, water absorptionperformance, sound absorption performance, static compression performance,circulation compression performance and transient compression performance of thefoam was done with the help some modern characterization instrument and somemomemade instruments. For example, the universal tensile tester, Differential scanningcalorimetry heat analyzer (DSC), scanning electron microscope(SEM), et al. The resultsshowed that:(1) With the increase of AC foaming agent, the density and hardness of foammaterial present a change rule was first drop and then increased, the water absorptionratio was first drop and then increased, and all goto extremum when the additive amountwas15wt%. With the increase of wood flour content, the void fraction and cell size offoam material present a change rule was first enhance and then weaken, hardness wasfirst drop and then increased, all goto extremum when the additive amount was15wt%,and the water absorption ratio was carries on rising.(2) With the increase of density, the high frequency sound absorption ability areincrease; the wood flour will enhancement the high frequency sound absorption abilityof the material, the more wood flour,the high frequency sound absorption ability isstronger. With the increase of the wood flour, the absorptive ablility of the foam on thesound waves with the frequency form1000Hz to3000Hz and above5000Hz increasealone with it. And the frequency form3000Hz to5000Hz present a change rule thatincrease first and drop later, reach a maximum at30phr. (3) The results showed that the existence of wood flour make the Young’s modulus,yield strength, energy absorption ability and energy absorption efficiency of foamingmaterial decreased in different degree. And with the increase of the content of woodflour, they all present a first increased and then decreased change. In addition, theyoung’s modulus, yield strength of foaming material and the starting strain ofdensification stage all increase with the increase of the compression rate.(4) With the cycle time increase, the spared quantity and hysteretic percentage offoams all fall., and the download amplitude is becoming smaller until to zero. Inaddition, with the increase of adding amount of wood powder, the spared quantity wasfirst increase and drop later, and go to the best at30wt%.(5) With the increase of the foaming agent, the relaxation radio are linearly relatedto the density of the material. The density higher, the relaxation radio will smaller.With the increase of the wood flour, the relaxation radio was first increase and drop later,and go to the best at30wt%.
