Gas outburst and gas explosion occurred frequently, besides, traditionalgas tube is easy to kindle and lack of stiffness, which cannot guarantee thesecurity and stability of the gas drainage work, and it is a great threat to thelife safety of the mine workers. So to develop a new composite pipe for gasdrainage, which can overcome the defeat of the traditional gas pipe, has greatsocial significance and practical value of coal mine safety production.As a new type of PE/Steel composite pipe, whether it can adapt to theworking conditions of coal is the focus of the paper. Firstly, the stability of thenew steel-plastic complex pipe is calculated based on the pressure vesselsoutside pressure cylinder design. Additionally, ANSYS is used to study thedeformation and stress of the new steel-plastic complex pipe under externalpressure based on the theory of viscoelastic, and the results were analyzed.The work of this paper is as follows:(1) Some assumptions are made for composite pipe, spiral woundforming the structure of the composite pipe is assumed to be symmetric loopconvex structure, its role is equivalent to the stiffening ring, combined with the pressure vessels outside pressure cylinder design, the stability ofcomposite pipe in this study is checked, concluded the critical pressure ofPE/Steel composite.(2) After considering the viscoelastic properties of polymer materials,combined with the character of Prony series, using ANSYS software toestablish the finite corresponding model of composite pipe, setting thematerial parameters in software, calculating the deformation under the workpressure0.08MPa of the new PE/Steel composite pipe, the deformation undermaximum working pressure is obtained of the DN600mm the composite pipe.(3) In order to prove the superiority of the new PE/Steel composite pipe,the paper has tried the thickness of the PE pipe by finite element analysis,which concluded that when the thickness of PE pipe is35mm, the stiffness ofthe steel-plastic composite pipe and the PE pipe is consistent, and the weightand economic of the two pipes is compared under the same stiffness.
