| Engineering plastic alloy were widely used in automobiles, electronics, chemical industries and so on due to their better comprehensive properties. PPO/PA66alloy were prepared using melting-blending reactive extrusion in an intermeshing co-rotating twin screw extruder in this paper. The influence of formula and screw configuration on properties of alloy was studied. Moreover, The influence of Intermeshing co-rotating twin screw extrude, Intermeshing counter-rotating twin screw extrude and Buss Kneader on properties of alloy was compared.The influence of compositions of matrix, compatibilizer, toughening agent on properties of alloy was studied. The results of experiments showed that:A tetrafunctional epoxy monomer, TGDDM, was demonstrated to be a highly effective reactive compatibilizer of PPO/PA66alloy, while PA66-co-TGDDM-co-PPO copolymer was found through Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. when PPO:PA66:TGDDM:SEBS-g-MA is50:50:0.5:15, the PPO/PA66blends displayed the better comprehensive properties—tensile strength was57.21MPa, bending strength was74.06MPa, notched impact strength was10.45kJ·m-2, water absorption was0.44%, heat deflection temperature was172.0℃.The results of experiments in contrast of different mixing equipment showed that:Besides the intermeshing co-rotating twin screw extruder, the intermeshing counter-rotating twin screw extrude could be used to prepare PPO/PA66alloy, but Buss Kneader wasn’t suitable for preparing PPO/PA66alloy.The influence of the new-type elements which were set in melting section and mixing section on properties of alloy was studied in the experiments of screw configurations. The results showed that:comparing with KB+S, S+KB which was set in melting section preferably realized synchronous melting of PPO and PA66, thus, this configuration could help to improve properties of PPO/PA66alloy. Comparing with KB+TME, KB+SME which was set in mixing section was found to be suitable for preparing alloy by simulation and test. Under the condition of satisfying the extrusion screw configuration design, it was beneficial for improving properties of alloy that the new-type elements scattered in the screw. |
