With the development of our industry, the use of phenol and aniline is underexploring. Phenol or amine-containing wastewater wantonly discharged in some areas,resulting in water pollution, seriously affect the physical and mental health of people,the normal performance of farmland and green irrigation, which has restricted thesustainable development of cities. So far, there have been many researches on biologicaltreatment of phenol or amine-containing wastewater, while it doesn’t work well inpractice. Improving the microbial tolerance of phenol or aniline concentration, andfinding microorganisms of higher degradation efficiency, will play an important role onbioremediation of phenol or amine-containing wastewater in the future.Using microbiology method, six plants of psychrotrophs strains which coulddegrade phenol effectively (F1、F2、F3、F4、F5、F6) and four plants of psychrotrophsstrains which could degrade amine (N1、N2、N5、N6) are filtered, they use phenolor amine as the only carbon and nitrogen sources. Study on physiological andbiochemical characteristics of the ten strains shows that the optimal growingtemperature for phenol or amine degrading is15℃, pH value is7.5, speed of shaker is145r/min,with a inoculum size of10%(V/V). The ten strains all have a certain level ofadaption to phenol or amine. With a density of phenol or amine of0.5g/L, thedegradation rate can reach higher than75%, some of the strains cah even reach100%.Under normal temperature conditions, bacteria will reach growth peak in24h. Thegrowth of cold adapted microorganisms is restricted by many ecological factors,therefore a growth time of72h is needed to reach a peak. The ten high efficientdegradation cold adapted strains trained in the laboratory can reach growth peak in24h~48h.Study on content and activity of crude enzyme and functional gene sequences oftrained strains set a base for build of engineering bacteria in the following process, andfor the effecient and complete degradation of phenol and amine in cold wastewater.
