With the development of oil&gas field deepening, it has been a trendency to develop oil&gas reservoir using complex architecture well with its special technical advantages. Wellpath design, as the vital step of drilling engineering design, has a great role on drilling with safe, excellent, fast and low cost.In the paper, firstly, based on the researches on theory of wellpath design at home and abroad, complex architecture well has been classified as horizontal well, multilateral well and extended reach well etc according to the different structural feature, the main points included influence factors and principles on wellpath design has been analyzed. Secondly, based on the wellpath design calculation of directional well that has been used widely now, implementation and specific calculation of wellpath design on complex architecture well has been set up. Then, based on database and network technology, overall structure of complex architecture wellpath design system (CAWDS) has been made up, functional module also has been divided. Finally, CAWDS has been come true using VS2008C#.Through this paper, influence factors of wellpath design on complex architecture well has been concluded, model and method suitable for complex architecture well has been established, CAWDS software has been developed, thereby it could provide more precise wellpath design plan of drilling design.
