Multi-aryl imidazole compounds are present in a number of resonance structures, as anorganic nonlinear optical materials have prodigious potential in the field ofelectroluminescence and photoluminescence. Benzaldehyde as raw materials, synthesis ofbenzoin by benzoin condensation, and then after the oxidation reaction of benzil. Theoptimum reaction conditions were determined through effect of the molar ratio, reactiontemperature and pH value. Product obtained with the target product is consistent. by meltingpoints, the product of traits with the literature value of contrast.The promotion of the ionic liquid, benzil, aromatic aldehydes, aryl amines andammonium acetate as raw materials, pot four-component synthesis of N-aryl-substituted1,2,4,5-tetraphenyl imidazoles derivative.Discuss the amount of reactants, temperature,reaction time, reaction conditions, such influence on the reaction has been compared to theoptimal reaction conditions. Under the optimized reaction conditions, the higher yield of thereactants.The structure of the synthesized compounds were detected by melting point andcharacterized by IR and1H NMR.The results show that the structure of the same betweencompounds and target products.1,2,4,5-Tetraphenyl-1,3-imidazole single crystal structurewas obtained in the mixture of ethyl acetate and pretroleum ether. The ionic liquids could be recovered conveniently and reused for at least fourtimes without evident loss of yields.This description of ionic liquids is a highly efficient,environmentally friendly promoter of Benzil with aromatic aldehydes, aryl amines andammonium acetate pot four-component reaction. fully embodies the concept of greenchemistry.
