The piping system of locomotive is an important part of braking system, whichis the carrier of braking system functions. The performance of locomotive brake isaffected directly by the quality of piping system, relating to the operation safety oflocomotive. There are many kinds of locomotive pipe lines and large number of tubes.It requirements of the customer for the product quality of piping system are higherand higher. At present, The SOCO CNC tube bending machine purchased by assemblyworkshop can not meet the demands of fast development in CSR Zhuzhou ElectricLocomotive Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as CSR ZELC). In order to betterimprove the working efficiency and product quality of tube bending, it is necessary tooptimize and update the NC program of SOCO CNC tube bending machine.This article summarizes the importance and function of piping system tolocomotive braking system, points out the research contents and significance of thisarticle, focuses on process analysis results of tube bending and research results relatedto CNC tube bending machine, discusses some algorithm design, sets up themathematical model and analyzes NC program carried by SOCO CNC tube bendingmachine as well as formulates the flow of newly developed CN program of tubebending machine.The newly developed NC program of tube bending machine adopts VB softwaredeveloping tool and Access database. This article describes the function of CNprogram for newly developed tube bending machine, meanwhile, introduces theoperation interface and function of it in detail.Through the analysis on the process of tube bending and NC program of SOCOCNC tube bending machine, it has formulated the development flow of CN programof tube bending machine, developed the CNC program and solved the defects andlimitation of NC program carried by SOCO CNC tube bending machine as well asfacilitated the operation for operating staff and technologist. It doesn’t need to correctafter tube bending is finished. It has considerably improved the production efficiency and product quality of tube bending, which has met the requirements of CSR ZELCfor tube bending.The theoretical analyses and research results in this article have been used todirect production, and have achieved remarkable social and economic benefits andalso provide valuable foundation and method for tube bending in future.
