The aim of this work is to use pozzuolana as the structural support to prepare a new catalyst used in catalytic wet air oxidation-pozzuolana-activated carbon, which overcame the disadvantages of activated carbon such as low strength and fragile, providing the high compressive strength and huge specific surface area.Through three times of impregnation, carbonization and activation, the technical parameters of the activated carbon in the catalyst support parts are showed as following:1020m2/g of specific surface area,0.57cm3/g of total pore volume,61%of micropore volume in total pore volume,9.05%of carbon content of activated carbon,2.45nm of average pore size of activated carbon, type Ⅳ of isothermal adsorption curves. Furthermore, the activated carbon could maintain31.5%of porosity rate and25MPa of compressive strength. Finally, loading CeO2as the active components on the material to prepare a high performance catalyst-CeO2/Pozzuolana-Activated Carbon. According to the catalytic performance and crystallite dimension of active components, the optimal preparation process is found out.According to the removal rate of COD, phenol and formaldehyde of original phenolic resin wastewater and Loading5%of active component to develop catalyst CeO2/KC-130, which is used to CWAO of phenolic resin wastewater, degradation results show that the removal rate of COD, phenol and formaldehyde can reach93%,99.1%,99.6%under the optimal reaction conditions, respectively. The reaction kinetics and activation energy for WAO and CWAO were also studied. The results show that reaction models accord with two steps first-order kinetics. The reaction rate constants are enhanced and activation energies are decreased after the introduction of catalyst.
