It would make enormous influence on steel properties to control decarburizedlayer and formulate the heat treatment process. Using alloy tool steel SKS51producedby Zhujiang Iron and Steel Company as the rough material. This paper focuses on theinfluence of heating temperature and heating time on decarburization of steel SKS51through metallographic analysis and hardness analysis in lab. We can acquire therelationship between the decarburization depth and heating temperature and heatingtime by analyzing and regressing test data. In addition, We finally choose a properheat treatment process system by comparing the microstructure and properties of steelafter different heat treatment processes. The austenitic procession of steel SKS51hasbeen investigated by using a confocal scanning laser microscope(CSLM). And theaustenitic grain growth curves have been established too.
