Polyaniline is a special functional materials, we call it conductive plastics. It not only has the plastic density, but also has chemical properties and electrochemical performance that metal and plastic does not have. It has been used for anti-corrosion coating, electrostatic protective materials, electromagnetic shielding materials, photoelectric materials, sensors, in the defense industry, aerospace industry, microelectronics industry, chemical industry and other fields. It shows a broad application prospect. Because the conductive polyaniline synthesis of raw materials and it is easy to get and it is easy to prepare. So it also has good environmental stability and high conductivity. So it is the hot research field of conducting polymers.Due to the polyaniline has the poor solubility, so its application is limited. Therefore, how to improve the solubility of PAN is very important in its application.A new process for the preparation of polyaniline with good solubility, with the solution of poly(2-Acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid)(PAMPS) as doping acid and polymerization medium, is developed in this paper. The effect of the molar ratio of oxidant and PAMPS with aniline, reaction time and the post-processing on the process have been investigated. Suitable reaction conditions were determined as follows:Mass Concentration of AMPS is40%, reaction temperature is5℃, reaction time is5.0h, mole ratio of the oxidant to aniline is0.6. In the condition, the solubility of the product is more than80%in organic solvent, and25%in water. The conductivity of the product is0.56s/cm. The product was confirmed by IR, SEM.Through the development of new high solubility conductive polyaniline, it lay the important foundation for the development of a series of water-borne PANI products.
