As a public nuisance, stench has a serious influence on people’s physical and mental health. Stench is in the second place of the world’s seven public nuisances, only to the noise. The landfill is an important source of the city stench pollution. With the accelerated process of urbanization and the improvement of people’s living standard, how to control and governance the stench gases of landfill gradually become a hot topic of concern and research.The S element and N element of garbage exist in organic matter by the form of reduced state. Sulfur-containing substances and nitrogen compounds are in the majority of stench substances, and they are very poisonous. Therefore, NH3and H2S of stench gases were selected as the evaluation index, laboratory test and the landfill site spray deodorizing effect deodorant have researched by using microbial and considering the environment, decay degree of garbage and other factors.In a confined environment, adding Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus licheniformis and Lactobacillus to rancid garbage achieved better degradation effect of H2S, and the removal rate was up to98.97%, but the degradation effect of NH3was not obvious; The degradation effect of H2S from fresh garbage was not obvious by the three bacterias, but they have better degradation effect of NH3. In an open environment, the three bacterias were respectively added to rancid garbage and fresh garbage, and then each index concentration of stench gases was significantly lower than the control group. These indicated that the three bacterias were able to significantly delay the produce time of H2S and NH3and have the ability to rapidly degrade H2S and NH3in the experimental group.The composite micro-ecological agent was composed of5kinds of microorganisms including Rhodopseudomonas palustris, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus lichenformis, Bacillus pumilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus. In this paper, the composite micro-ecological agent was used to governance the landfill’s stench problem of the hill in Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province by spraying directly. The results show that the concentrations of NH3and H2S of the landfill’s sampling point were decreased by65.85%and87.50%respectively, and the concentrations of NH3and H2S of the residential sampling point were decreased by59.38%and81.82%respectively after the end of the treatment. Therefore, the method of using the composite micro-ecological agent to eliminate stench pollution from landfill is feasible.
