The Milling-Turning Compound Machining is a promising technology forincreasing productivity and reducing production costs dramatically. There are so manyCountries around the world competing for this new technology. Under normalcircumstances, the Milling-Turning Compound Machining is equipped with amotorized spindle, the high-speed motorized spindle, as the core component ofhigh-speed machine tools, is strategically critical to the Reliability of Milling-TurningCompound Machining.Because of the compact structure and small size, installation and debugging of themotorized spindle in this paper is very difficult. Among the many sources ofMilling-Turning Compound machining errors, temperature rise and thermaldeformation are traditionally known as key contributors. So that, analyzing the thermalcharacteristics of the motorized spindle, Inhibition its temperature rise and thermaldeformation has benefits to the rotation accuracy of the Milling-Turning Compoundmachining.In this paper, it is mainly focus not only on aspects such as the benefits ofMilling-Turning Compound machining, heat generation and calculation, heat transferboundary conditions’ analysis and calculation, but also on reasons which arestrategically critical to the implementation of Milling-Turning Compound machining.By using the tribology theory and related expressions, the heat generate by heatsources are calculated, and the relationship between the values and its causes arerevealed. In order to analyze the thermal characteristic, the finite element method isused to build the thermal-model of the motorized spindle. Then, the temperature fieldsand the thermal-stress fields of structure are analyzed. In conclusion, factors whichinfluence the thermal characteristic of motorized spindle most were found andanalyzed, before the improved measures are brought forward...
