Based on the analysis of general mechanism and caster processing of the automatic caster assembly machine, the paper edits the virtual PLC on PLC Editor, creates the virtual models of caster assembly machine and makes simulations of caster assembly processes on EON Studio, edits virtual PLC programs to control the virtual caster assembly machine and finally achieves the simulatuions and analysis of the assembling processes.The workplace layout of automatic caster assembly machine was studied. By analyzing the mechanism of the caster and its assembly procedures, according to the different features of linear work station, finally chose the right workplace layout for the automatic caster assembly machine.The methods and mathematical formulations of creating dynamic and virtual3D models were studied. First, the3D models of automatic caster assembly machine were classified in accordance with the characteristic of modeling technology in the virtual environment and built all static models. Subsequently, all dynamic models were built. As to these dynamic models, three-dimensional translation transformation matrix or three-dimensional rotation transformation was used to realize dynamic simulation. The two matrixes were also can be used in all the translations or rotations of automatic caster assembly machine. And it had the advantage of generality.The sequence matrix algorithm was studied. By analyzing the features of type-1sequence matrix and type-2sequence matrix, the general formula of sequence matrix was given. This matrix reflected the constraints among operation priority. During the rotation of the caster assembly machine’s turntable, it can be used to show all the parts synchronization appearance on the fixed supports and make the simulation more clearly and live.The virtual control panel was designed and created. According to logical relationship of the sequence and different functions, the models of virtual buttons and virtual control panel were created. Then, with the help of nodes in EON, the logical programs were succeeded on routes:simulation. In the end, the virtual control panel was controlled by the virtual PLC which was edited on PLC Editor.The communication mechanism between EON Studio and PLC Editor was studied. Firstly, the functions of eventln and eventOut were created in EON Studio. Secondly, the creation of EONX components and controls was used to embed the simulation files in PLC Editor. Finally, message response functions were created to realize the communication between EON and PLC Editor.
