Various tool surfaces are coated and processed by the coated Tools workshop. Itsprocess mainly includes: cleaning, micro sandblasting, batch clamping, pack frame andcoating etc. Because the coated tools have become a symbol of modern cutting tools,the percentage of the coated tools is more than50%in modern cutting tools. With theportfolio expanded rapidly, the original production mode meets many problems, theimprovement and optimization of workshop production system are the most importantpart in the enterprise development. The eM-plant simulated modeling and geneticalgorithm is combined to optimize facility layout and production scheduling of thecoated Tools workshop in this thesis,solve the problems which the tool coatingworkshop is facing in production.Due to distinctive means of production and its increasing traffic, coated cuttingtools production plant gradually revealed some new problems of the production system.The original single workshop schedule based on mathematical models or experience cannot meet the needs of manufacturing any more. Therefore, a line with the concepts oflean manufacturing optimization workshop is urgently needed to adapt to its businessdevelopment.This thesis describes the development of the production logistics system and somerelative researches both at home and abroad and its main problems. Then it introducesthe eM-Plant which is production system simulation software and genetic algorithmwhich is one kind of optimization algorithms, based on which, facility layout andproduction of coated Tools workshop are simulated and optimized.Firstly, establish the facility layout model of coated Tools workshop througheM-Plant, with the optimization goal of minimizing the amount of logistics. By themeans of genetic algorithm to optimize facility layout of coated Tools workshop,eventually finding out the facility layout scheme of coated cutter workshop to reducelogistics by11.6%. And then this thesis uses eM-Plant to establish the coated tools shop schedulingmodel, using mixed genetic algorithm to optimize job-shop scheduling of cutting toolcoated. Finally contrast the Gantt chart and the equipment utilization before and after tostate the necessity of optimizing schedule.After the simulation and optimization of the facilities of coated Tools workshoplayout and job-shop scheduling, the efficiency of production shop cutting tool coatedproduction will be greatly improved.
