Ground subsidence is a common geological disaster in our country, and it can becaused by underground karst, underground resources extraction, and undergroundconstruction projects. China is rich in mineral resources; coal resources extractionoccupies more than90%of all solid mineral resources extraction. Large-scaleresources exploitation always causes big gobs underground, changes the originalstress state of underground rock, and leads to the destruction and instability of theoriginal rock, which will cause surface deformation, or even ground subsidence.Ground subsidence is influenced by many factors, which can be summed up intotwo categories, like natural factors and human factors. Various mines may showcompletely different states in the scale of ground subsidence, intensity anddistribution disciplines. Inner Mongolia is an important province with abundantresources in China, and coal resources extraction is the main economic pillars. However, ground subsidence with high intensity, large-scale, caused by coal mining,is very serious. Studying the characteristics and distribution of the region’s coalmining ground subsidence, grasping the influencing factors and the strength of themajor mining ground subsidence, and analyzing the severity of the major coal miningarea of ground subsidence are of great importance and have important effects ongrasping the ground subsidence status of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region anddetermining the mines which are in need of prediction and treatment. The main contents of this paper are as follows:1. An analysis of the ground subsidence`s characteristics and distribution of InnerMongolia Autonomous Region, and have an overall grasp ground subsidence of themain coal mining areas in the region;2. Summaries of the genetic mechanism and influencing factors of groundsubsidence within the coal mining area, and summarizes the discipline of each factorthat affects the subsidence of ground with mined gob;3. Combine the background of the geological environment, production methods, and management methods of25typical mines in the Inner Mongolia AutonomousRegion, with the use of the analytic hierarchy process to all factors, to calculate andanalyze each factor’s weight, which will be helpful when mines prevent and treatthese ground subsidence.
