As an important basic chemical raw material and fine chemical products, epichlorohydrin is widely used in many fields. The important methods to produce epichlorohydrin in the world have many obvious shortcomings, such as high energy consumption and many by-products. Another method to produce epichlorohydrin used by Glycerol and hydrogen chloride has some advantages, such as low unit consumption and pollution, especially with the rapid development of bio-energy, a large number of glycerin was produced. So this method has already attracted people’s widespread attention.The current research focused on the study of the method to produce epichlorohydrin and concrete research contents are listed as follows:Aspen Plus simulation software was applied in the process research. Thermodynamic model was selected and reaction kinetic equation was selected and verified. The unit module to produce epichlorohydrin was chosen and the main process unit was simulated. The unit equipment was designed and the process condition was established and optimized.Through the simulation of glycerol hydrochiorination, DCH purification and saponification, ECH refinement, and finally the total yield of ECH is 88.72%. Unit consumption of glycerol is 1.118 t/(t ECH), Unit consumption of HCl is 0.9748 t/(t ECH). The amount of industrial waste water is 3.703 t/(t ECH), while the value is 40 t/(t ECH) in the Process used by Propylene.
