With the fast development of our country ’s economy , the impacts and losses resulting from fires are on a threatening rise. It is the investigation about causes of the fire, identification of the material on fire, determination of the fire point etc that make a significant contribution to prevent similar fires and accident responsibility identification. As fire scientific research deepens and computer science develops, computer numerical simulation has become the most important way in fire scientific research. At present researchers ,domestic and overseas, usually judge the analysis of the types of fire accident and fire source of authentication etc by professional long work experience and semiempirical approach , lacking of related technical support. Due to the short time period and low cost, computer numerical simulation method has been used in fire accident investigation increasingly.In the paper, the application of the numerical simulation technology to the development course of fire investigation is discussed. It is the causes of fire, fire theory, fire type etc that have impacts on the development of fire. Secondly, a fire simulation experiment minified in equal proportion is made. And there is a discussion about these related factors—for example, ventilation factor ,fire load, open height, thermal distribution, fire last time—which have impacts on the development of fire indoors. By analysis the change of the temperature rules about the top of the test chamber under the same and different fire load conditions, the paper compared FDS numerical simulation results with the experimental value. A comparison of fire duration time in theory and actual experimental value shows that fire duration time is in relation to these factors which are the location of the fuel, ignition position, ventilation factor etc.The typical fire case simulation is made by using fire simulation software FDS5.3.0. By the orthogonal experiment, the paper analyses fire numerical representation. Compared fire numerical simulation results with fire case report, the results of the numerical simulation is proved to be credible. When modeling, the factors that grid size, fire position, ventilation factor, external environment especially the effect of wind, internal decoration materials, fire spreading etc are considered. And reproduce the scene of smoke spread and fire development. Through the increase in the numerical simulation of the sprinkler system, studied the control effect of fire fighting facilities over fire, which makes safe evacuation time increased.
