Sheet metal forming is one of the most important metal shaping processes. It isextensively used throughout the major automotive, aeronautical,navigation and shipsmanufacturing industries,Which is an important part of modern manufacturing.Bulging process of stainless steel evaporator is a highly nonlinear large deformationprocess. Traditional design and manufacturing methods are time-consuming, becausedebugging and amending are usually essential. It has resulted in inefficient production,poor quality, long development cycle, high cost. With the swift and violent developmentof computer technology,finite element method and numerical simulation technology,the computer aided engineering technology based on numerical simulation is widelyused in sheet forming field.This paper has described the development of bulging of sheet metal and finiteelement study, and introduced sheet plastic finite element theory, mainly including:plastic stress and strain, elastic-plastic constitutive relation, yield criterion, finiteelement analysis solution method and the process, Static implicit algorithm, dynamicexplicit method, the forming limit diagram applications, the test methods of sheet metalforming and the impact of sheet metal forming and so on.This paper has used DYNAFORM,a sheet metal forming special software tosimulate the bulging process of stainless steel evaporator. Taking into account thecomplexity of the weld simulation, this paper constructed a simplified finite elementmodel. Through simulation over and over again, you could see clearly the formingprocess of stress and strain of the change and distribution, through the FLD that theforming a visual quality, including whether wrinkling or burst; From stainless steel plateforming rule, the thickness distribution, bulging is full and stress and strain distributionanalysis in three aspects, select the reasonable bulging pressure, solve the bulginghighly uneven; Different loading paths is used, it is discussed that the path of the loadimpacts on the sheet thickness distribution. through the simulation of the evaporationarea near and welding points and plate edge is forming high-risk area, stress and thestrain of complicated cases, deformed, easy to appear all sorts of defects; discusses aload must be outside, the pressure of the force in sheet metal forming, the effects ofthe blank-holder force with different after confirmed the load to influence on theperformance of the bulging. Numerical simulation techniques to determine various parameters during bulging process of stainless steel evaporator can reduce producttesting and debugging, and thus reduce costs and improve design quality. In sheet metalforming, the methods and result of research has a great feasible degrees and has aguiding significance to practice and reference.
