We all know that the performance of welding source result in the quality of the weldingseam. Besides welding power source, automatic and semi-automatic welding qualities arealso affected by the reliability and stability of wire feeding system directly. Improving thehardware performance and control mode of the wire feeding system is the main way toimprove its properties. Compared with the traditional analog control mode, more flexiblecontrol algorithm can be used in controlling wire feeding system by the digital control mode,which is also superior to the traditional analog control mode in accurate controlling,human-computer interaction and Coordination with the welding machine.In this paper, TMS320F2812DSP was used as the master control board of digital wirefeeder to control the human-computer interaction of touch screen and regulate the wirefeeding speed. PID control algorithm was adopted to achieve close Loop control for currentand voltage, and CAN bus communication mode was designed to transfer information anddata with welding machine conveniently, and finally the real time display of wire feedingspeed and the transmission of each instruction can be achieved.In this paper, an overall wire feeding system was built based on120SN printedpermanent magnet direct-current motor by self-designed hardware control circuit andsoftware system. The control system presented good stability, reliability andmaneuverability in controlling wire feeding speed and data communication by simulationtest, and each data met the design requirements.
