Organic waste is the general name of environment-abandoned solid organics, including living garbage, sewage sludge, planting organic waste and breeding organicwaste. It is a kind of precious renewable resource, whose recycling in the ecologicalenvironment is a kind of deep circulation. Its circulation prosess accords with theReduce, Reuse and Recycle prince of circular economy and brings organic waste intoecosystem harmoniously. In this way, the coordinate coexistence is promoted. Throughrational utilization and safety disposal, the consumption of nature resource, carbonemission and environmental pollution load can be reduced by a large margin, influenceon environment and pressure on ecosystem are reduced, and at last, self-restoring spaceis provided.Supported by Sino-German research project of “Recycling of organic waste fromagricultural and municipal origin in China”, combined with the domestic and overseasfield survey and documentary situation, the generation, utilization and pollution statusesof organic residues in China were analyzed. With the circular economy theory andMaterial Flow Analysis (MFA), the first regional MFA of organic waste in China-JimoOrganic Residues MFA was completed and the major species, production and disposalstatus in Jimo were confirmed. On that basis, using system optimizationmethod-Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), the key pollution factor weights of organicwaste in Jimo were identified. According to the major factors, the optimal solutionscheme of Jimo Organic Residues Comprehensive Utilization Technology was putforward and its comprehensive benefit analysis was completed. So far,5papers and1academic book related to this study have been published. There are6chapters in this paper:In chapter1, the background and significance of this study were expounded, and thechief research contents and basic framework were put forward; In chapter2, the utilization statuses of organic residues in developed countries wereintroduced, and the generation, utilization and pollution statuses in China wereanalyzed; In chapter3, the development situation and theoretical frame of MFA method wereintroduced, and several domestic and overseas representive cases were analyzed; In chapter4, through field investigation and information research of living garbage, sewage sludge, planting organic waste and breeding organic waste in Jimo, JimoOrganic Residues MFA was completed by MFA method; In chapter5, with AHP, the pollution factor weights of organic waste organic wastewas caculated: sewage sludge0.3333, living garbage in urban area0.2857, livinggarbage in rural area0.1905, planting organic waste0.1428, and breeding organic waste0.0477. According to the first two factors, the solution schemes of Jimo OrganicResidues Comprehensive Utilization Technology were put forward. Through thecalculation of their payback periods, the optimal scheme was identified. And its materialand energy balance analysis as well as economic, environmental and social benefitanalysis were completed. The payback period of the optimal scheme was6years, theoptimal scheme was able to use50thousand tons sewage sludge (water content80%)and100thousand tons living garbage in urban area and reduce10.7thousand tonsstandard coal and28.5thousand tons carbon dioxide emission; In chapter6, the research results of this study were analyzed. And the the developingdirection and focal points in this field were pointed out.
